Training course «Assisting a child with an autistic disorder»

From December 5 to December 13, 2022, on the basis of the teaching and research laboratory of Special and Inclusive Education of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of Abai KazNPU, together with the Kazakhstan Association of Applied Behavior Analysis Specialists, the training course «Assisting a child with an autistic disorder» begins.

Autism is a special form of mental development with uneven formation of various types of functions, with a kind of emotional-behavioral, riverine and sometimes intellectual insufficiency.

It is extremely important to provide timely (early) psychological assistance to an autistic child. Early assistance should be provided individually, as a result of which communication skills will be formed. Only after individual psychological and pedagogical work, a child with autism can be sent to a social environment - to a kindergarten or school. Such psychological work in most cases is not carried out due to the lack of competence of specialists and parents.

The purpose of the course is to form the necessary competencies for individual work with children with autism, to introduce scientifically proven methods for correcting their behavior, to discuss the world experience of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) experts.

The training course is designed for parents; professionals working with children with autism spectrum disorders; students of the direction of psychology and special pedagogy, including undergraduates, doctoral students.

Lecturers of the course: Abaeva Galia - candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor, director of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of Abai KazNPU; Akhmetova Zhanat - behavioral analyst, curator of behavioral programs, director of the ABA Center «Rostok»; Utebayeva Umirlazat - behavioral analyst, director of the ABA Center «Rostok Atyrau», graduated from the full highly professional course of the BCBA.
