Higher education in Emergencies

A webinar for representatives of higher education institutions as well as UNESCO Chairs on «Higher Education in Emergencies» was held on December 8, 2022. The webinar brought together speakers with experience in implementing higher education as an integral part of Sustainable Development Goal 4.

In particular, the webinar focused on the implementation of the Progress report on the preparation of the Draft Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education, adopted at the 40th session. This Convention reduces the barriers faced by students, teachers, researchers and job-seekers outside their home countries. In line with the Agenda "Education - 2030" and current global trends in higher education, the convention aims to promote academic mobility, improve the quality of higher education institutions and enhance international cooperation in higher education.

The webinar also highlighted the potential of internet platforms and cloud-based solutions in providing accessible higher education.
