Deutsch lernen macht Spaß! //Learn German with pleasure!

On April 15, 2023 K.K.Ibragimova and K.T.Duisenova, the teachers of the Department of the Oriental Philology and Translation of the Institute of Philology with the 1st and 2nd year students of the specialties "Foreign language: two foreign languages" and "Translation studies" who study German as a second foreign language organized the excursion to the Goethe-Institute in Almaty. The aim of the event was to promote interest and motivation for learning German as well as to broaden knowledge of the country where the language is spoken.

Librarian Saltanat Ashirova began the tour with an overview and familiarization with the literature and audio/video collection of the library of her institute. Students were encouraged to use not only dictionaries, encyclopedias, fiction, but also a wide variety of learning materials for studying German (levels A1-C1).

The students also had at their disposal modern multimedia devices and a large-screen touch-screen display, with the help of which they could take an exciting quiz about famous personalities, landmarks, culture and traditions of Germany. Winners of the quiz and participants of the event were given commemorative badges, German calendars and stationery. At the end of the informative visit, the students were given the opportunity to register and become permanent subscribers of the Goethe-Institut library.
