International Forum for Young Teachers of CIS Teacher Education Institutions

On May 12, 2023 Abai University hosted the International Forum for young teachers of pedagogical universities of CIS countries "Young teacher of continuing teacher education system: the stages of professional development" dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the university. The event was attended by Darkhan Bilyalov, Chairman of the Board-Rector of Abai KazNPU; Victor Dronov, Academician of Russian Academy of Education, Professor, First Vice-Rector of Moscow State Pedagogical University; Professor Eduard Nikitin, EAPU Executive Director. Moderated by Aktolkyn Kulsarieva, Vice-Rector for Strategy, Digitalisation and Internationalisation.

The forum brought together young researchers, scientists and teachers from different CIS countries, who discussed issues of professional development, development of professional competencies and methods of modern teaching in the system of continuous teacher education.

Darkhan Bilyalov noted that education is one of the most important components of state development. Therefore, attention to the problems and prospects of modern education, qualification and experience of teachers are undoubtedly the most important tasks facing modern pedagogical universities. "The forum has become an important platform to exchange experiences and discuss topical issues facing young teachers in the field of teacher education. Learning best practices, introducing new teaching technologies, as well as experienced teachers and scholars help young teachers to develop their professional skills and successfully overcome the challenges of modern education," said the Rector of Abai University.

The event included plenary sessions where participants shared their experience and expertise and discussed current trends and challenges that young teachers face in teacher education. Thus, such issues were discussed as the current status of young teachers in the system of lifelong learning in the CIS countries, activities of the Council of Young Researchers, innovative methods of teaching that promote successful education of today`s youth, tools for training future teachers through the Hyflex technology and others.

The forum was addressed by Eduard Nikitin, the Executive Director of the EAPU, Kristina Zaitseva, the Vice-President of the Council of Young Teachers of the EAPU (St. Petersburg Academy of Post-graduate Pedagogical Education), Shahislam Laiskhanov, the Chairman of the Young Researchers Council of KazNPU named after Abay, and representatives of the universities in Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The topics discussed were very important for young teachers, including the creation of innovative educational models, professional development and the development of new teaching methods. The Forum was an important platform for exchange of experience and professional communication, fostered friendships between young academics and teachers from different CIS countries and gave new impulses for further professional growth and development. Such events will help young teachers to develop their professional skills and exchange experience in the field of continuing teacher education.

The event ended with the awarding of the winners of the Third International Competition for Young Teachers "Learning to Teach" and the presentation of certificates of participation in this forum.
