Abai University has developed an electronic manual "Zoology of invertebrates"

Changes in the education system of Kazakhstan, in particular, the renewal of the content of school education, have actualised the problem of language training of future subject teachers who teach school subjects in English.

For this purpose, teachers of the Department of Biology of the Institute of Natural Science and Geography of Abai University (K.Batyrova, M.Zhaksybaev, A.Maimataeva and M.Bazhenova) developed an electronic manual "Zoology of invertebrates", which is actively used in all spheres of students` activities (lectures, laboratory classes, SRSP, etc.).

The purpose of the e-book is to provide students with a solid knowledge of the regularities of invertebrates structure, their evolution and relationship with the environment, changes occurring in them depending on the habitat conditions, as well as in the process of their individual and historical development.

The electronic manual includes an introduction, characteristic of 25 types of invertebrates, SRS, SRSP, test tasks, reference material on all types of animals, educational films, opinions of prominent scientists. The manual provides laboratory practice, where anatomo-morphological characteristics of invertebrates are reflected. The theoretical material fully corresponds to modern scientific ideas in the field of zoology.

The author`s concept of the e-tutorial is characterised by novelty and originality in terms of:

structural organisation of the content;

methodological apparatus of the training material;
logical transition from topic to topic;
correctness in the use of special terminology.

The material is clearly and concisely presented, the control questions fully correspond to the content of the studied topics.
