Round table "Legal Culture of Teaching Staff: Openness. Honesty. Counteraction to corruption"

On October 11, 2023 in Abai KazNPU within the framework of the social project "Implementation of a set of measures to improve the legal literacy of young people and the level of trust in law enforcement agencies" held a round table "Legal culture of educators: Openness. Honesty. Countering corruption". The event was organised jointly with the Almaty city branch of the national public association "National Anti-Corruption Movement "Zhanaru".

 

The event was attended by Beibit Mamraev, deputy chairman of Zhaңaru, Bolat Tlep, chairman of the Board - rector of Abai KazNPU, Arman Rakhimov, head of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Meyirzhan Otynshiev, chairman of the Maslikhat of Almaty, Boris Zhaparov, director of the Almaty city branch of the National Anti-Corruption Movement Zhaңaru, Kanat Salimbaev, head of the Prevention Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty. Kanat Salimbaev, head of the anti-corruption compliance service of KazNPU named after Abai Sabyr Tumenbaev, representative of the Almaty Police Department Baurzhan Tazhibaev, leading experts and practitioners in the field of legal culture and anti-corruption, faculty and students of the university.

 

The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the state anti-corruption policy, as well as to raise awareness, legal protection and legal literacy of young people against illegal actions and inaction of responsible persons, strengthening positive images, image of law enforcement agencies among the population.

 

Beibit Mamrayev, noting the importance of the event, stressed the importance of forming the personality of future teachers, their place in society and the need to be ready for open dialogue, to understand the ideology and policy of the state. "The future of the country depends on each of us. There are three values that shape the nation: diligence, modesty and respect for elders. Today`s meeting will allow us to exchange experience with each other, discuss best practices and consider ways to strengthen legal culture in educational institutions," he said.

 

Bolat Tlep said: "A teacher is a unique person who plays a decisive role in shaping the future society. The legal culture of a teacher, competent relations with pupils, undoubtedly influence the young generation. And we must understand the responsibility and consequences of corruption offences and constantly fight against them to prevent corruption". The rector noted that the university is currently conducting systematic work of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Service in order to prevent, prevent and avoid corrupt behaviour.

 

During the event, the reasons contributing to corruption offences were explained, and best practices in the area of legal literacy were presented and discussed. It is important to note that the discussion focused on the issues of openness, honesty and effective anti-corruption, especially in the context of education and pedagogy. The participants actively discussed issues related to current challenges in the fight against corruption and strengthening legal culture and exchanged experiences.

 

As a result of the round table, valuable suggestions and recommendations were made, which will be forwarded to the relevant state bodies and the national public association "Zhanaru". These proposals will become the basis for further steps in strengthening the legal culture of teaching staff and fighting corruption in educational institutions.
