Final certification of post-doctoral students

To expand the potential of the personnel reserve in the field of science, every year our university forms a pool of post-doctoral students in the order of competition. The post-doctoral program was introduced at the university in 2019, and today its pool has grown from three people to 21. Under the coordination of the Department of Science of Abai KazNPU, post-doctoral students open new horizons of knowledge, conducting research and developing science in all its manifestations. This year, seven young researchers are completing the post-doctoral program.

On October 31, 2023, the final certification of post-doctoral students was held: Layshanov Shahislam, Sapargalieva Bayan, Seilkhan Ainur, Serikova Samal, Baykulova Aigerim, Moldagali Bakitgul and Akimbekova Shyryn.

Within the framework of this program, our post-doctoral students have reached great heights. Thus, 1 post-doctoral student became the holder of the title "Best University Teacher" of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2 - holders of the state scholarship for talented young scientists and 1 scholarship holder of the Bolashak program. In total, from 2021 to 2023, post-doctoral students published 55 articles in peer-reviewed journals of the Scopus and WoS database, of which 29 publications in journals with a high percentile on CiteScore (percentile of at least 50 and at least Q1, Q2), and 81 articles in journals recommended by the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Among the graduates of the post-doctoral program there are heads of scientific projects funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as international projects.

The scientific indicators of our graduates have increased significantly compared to admission. For example, the Hirsch index of Seilkhan Ainur has grown from 1 to 7, which is currently the highest indicator among University teaching staff; Laiskhanov Shahislam during his studies became the holder of the title of "Best University Teacher" of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a state scholarship for talented young scientists, directs 2 scientific projects of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Baykulova Aigerim - the holder of a state scholarship for talented young scientists, during her studies she received the title of associate professor; Sapargalieva Bayan is the main coordinator of the international Erasmus+ project on the topic of KAZDUAL "Introduction of the Dual System in Kazakhstan". These results have a positive impact on increasing the research potential of our university, as well as on the growth of its indicators in the world rankings.

Looking at the results of our graduates, it can be confidently noted that the post-doctoral Program of Abai KazNPU is a unique platform for young researchers to increase their research potential, metric data, expand professional skills and achieve outstanding results in their scientific fields. The program is an important stage in the career of researchers, preparing them for a successful and productive scientific career and contributing to the development of scientific research not only in the country, but also in the international space.
