Training on AI and IT for professional growth of Abai University teachers

 

In Abai KazNPU from January 8 to 19, 2024 within the framework of the next Winter School is held training for teachers and developers of educational programs, heads of departments on the topic "Scaling of educational program" in the implementation of the project "Modernization of secondary education" with the support of MSHE RK. The event is attended by 145 members of the university faculty, they are trained by qualified trainers.

 

Step-by-step scheduled topics such as "Modern trends in teacher education and favorable educational environment", "Student-centered learning", "Active learning methods", "IT-competence of teachers and digital pedagogy", "Evaluation policy, forms and systems", as well as the presentation of the educational program developed under the project.

 

On January 11, 2024, trainers from the Department of Informatics and Informatization of Education of IMFI conducted a training on the topic "AI and IT-competence of teachers and digital pedagogy". They presented interesting and effective educational practices, developing AI and IT-competencies in demand in the modern world. In the application of AI technologies, the focus was on the formation of AI-competencies among educators. Developing artificial intelligence (AI) knowledge and skills among educators is a key aspect of modern education.

 

When performing group work, teachers worked with mind map technologies, which are an excellent tool for visualizing and structuring information, with types of online boards of electronic platforms that provide interactive interaction and information exchange, with augmented reality (AR) technologies, providing unique opportunities for enriching the educational process and developing teachers` IT-competencies.

 

As a result of the training, the participants expanded their knowledge in the field of AI and IT, mastered new technologies, tools and methods of teaching students.
