Lecture on information work on seismic safety

On February 28, 2024, the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, together with the Department of youth policy of Almaty and the Department of emergency situations of Almaty, held a lecture on the work on informing the teaching and student staff of higher educational institutions (Kaznpu, KNC, kBtu, Spbgup, KRSU) about seismic safety.

The purpose of the event was the formation of a culture of life safety, strengthening and raising the prestige of civil protection services, popularizing knowledge in the field of Civil Defense, preparing the population for actions in natural and man - made emergencies.

The speaker of the lecture - senior officer of the Department of Civil Defense of the Department of emergency situations of Almaty, major Baymukhambetova Sandugash, during the event reported on "the composition, tasks and basic principles of the service of emergency rescue services and civil protection formations, the actions of the population during an earthquake, before an earthquake, after an earthquake, the structure of the alarm suitcase", unstructured seismobektu, the organization of evacuation measures in emergency situations" and other actions in emergency situations of a man-made nature.

In addition, the speaker familiarized with the provisions on the danger of earthquakes and the procedure for actions after earthquakes in academic buildings and dormitories of universities, noting that it is necessary to form the skills of correct actions and preventive actions.

It was also noted that it is not known when the earthquake will occur, so it is necessary to constantly go on alert. "How to get rid of the threat to themselves in cases of emergency situations? What measures should be taken?"the questions were answered. The lecture participants were explained the procedure for entering the open area in general and worked out in practice.
