The Scientific Library of Abai University took an active part in the Decade of Science

The Scientific Library of Abai University took an active part in the Decade of Science in the Scientific Library of KazNPU named after Abai from April 4 to April 13, 2024, within the framework of the Decade of Science, events on the theme "Open Library" were organized (an exhibition of new literature, a reference and bibliographic fund and others). The presentation of new books by corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Tlebaev Kairat and Professor Baymola Dosan took place. The events were attended by vice-rectors, university faculty, librarians and students. The director of the Scientific Library, Imansydykova Nurgul, noted that "literature is of great importance in the life of every person, therefore, replenishing the library fund with new books is always an important and joyful event for both users and employees". The participants congratulated the authors on the release of new books and expressed their warm wishes that the library`s book collection would always be replenished with new products.

In addition, readers were provided with information on the use of electronic Internet resources in the education system and on external electronic resources, providing an electronic catalog with full-text databases. The library hosted offline and online webinars outlining the possibilities of using domestic and foreign databases: IPR Smart "Ecosystem approach to the development of education and science of a modern university"; OP URITE "Current scientific theories of digital education and their creation"; Practical implementation on the Urite platform; EB "Epigraph". Digital education is a global trend"; "Resources supporting learning and Research" from Oxford University Press; Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE) - about scientific publications of a wide range of scientific fields providing video tutorials of practices; TopIQ - Almaty Kitap publishing house - electronic teaching methodology based on the textbook platform.

The purpose of webinars is to provide users with the necessary information and meet their needs anywhere.

Also, within the framework of the Decade of Science, a scientific and educational evening "Shakarim murasy - urpakka amanat" was organized, dedicated to the 165th anniversary of Shakarim Kudaiberdyuly, as well as a book exhibition "Shakarim Murasy - halyktyn kazynasy". The event was organized by the scientific library, the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, the Leader Club at the Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy and the Center for Early Development and Social Pedagogical Support for Children.

The purpose of the evening was to familiarize students with the life and work of Shakarim, to reveal the ideas of the poet`s poems, to get acquainted with spiritual and moral principles; to encourage students to independently comprehend the lyrics of Shakarim and Abai. At the end of the evening, the library director presented certificates to all active participants of the event.

The purpose of the Open Library events is to strengthen ties with users, increase public interest in books and reading, and attract new readers.
