Visit of foreign scientists
A delegation of esteemed scientists from Yogyakarta state university (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Indonesia) recently concluded an official visit to the Department of Primary Education at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (KazNPU). The visit was part of a planned exchange program aimed at fostering collaboration and sharing expertise between the two prestigious institutions.
The Indonesian delegation, led by Dr. Fery Muhamad Firdaus and accompanied by Dr. Setiawan Edi Wibowo, Evy Nur Rochmah, and Dzul Fadli Rahman, presented an informative video showcasing their university, which is recognized as one of the leading state universities in Yogyakarta. They also introduced their groundbreaking research project titled «Development of media education among teachers, students, and their parents», which aims to conduct a comparative analysis of the opinions of Kazakhstani and Indonesian students and teachers regarding the project`s website.
During the visit, the scientists expressed keen interest in the development of functional literacy in Kazakhstani schools. In response, Aziya Zhumabayeva, the head of the department, presented the innovative textbook «Alippe» along with accompanying workbooks and teaching methodologies. Senior lecturer Gulnaz Sarsenbayeva provided a comprehensive overview of Kazakhstan`s primary education system, highlighting its unique features and strengths.
For foreign scientists, first-year students specializing in «6B01303 - Primary Education with ICT», under the mentorship of senior lecturer Asken Makhanova, performed the heartwarming songs «Qairly tan - Good morning» (composed by E.Omirov, with lyrics by A.Toyshanuly) and «Ryzhi pios - The red dog» (composed by G.Struve, with lyrics by V.Stepanov). The performances were met with great appreciation from the visiting delegation. Additionally, senior lecturer Gauhar Kamza captivated the audience with her renditions of the traditional Kazakh kuis «Yerke sylqym» and « Tepenkok».
This visit by the Yogyakarta State University delegation marks a significant step forward in Abai KazNPU`s ongoing efforts to strengthen its international partnerships and collaborations in the fields of education and research.
