The course "Financial literacy" for university teachers was held at Abai University

In his Message to the People of Kazakhstan, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the importance of improving financial literacy of citizens and instructed the AMANAT party, together with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to implement the Karyzsyz Kogam project. In this regard, the Committee of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan provides for the inclusion of the course "Financial Literacy" in the educational programs of higher educational institutions from September 1, 2024-2025 academic year in order to implement the project of the AMANAT party "Karyzsyz kogam".

To this end, from August 26 to 28, 2024, a three-day course "Financial Literacy" was organized on the basis of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai for 50 teachers from 36 universities in Almaty and Zhetysu region.

With a congratulatory speech, this course was opened by the vice-rector for Academic Affairs of the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Narbekova B. M., noting that currently, due to insufficient financial literacy, misunderstandings arise in society, especially among students, and stressed the relevance of this project today.

The speakers of the course "Financial Literacy" were Associate Professor of the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, PhD Karimova M. D., Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Accounting of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Kerimbek G.E., Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Accounting of the I.Zhansugurov Zhetysu University Professor, PhD Syzdykbaeva N. B., they gave lectures and conducted practical classes.

The speakers also explained the relevance, goals and objectives of the course. The lectures and practical classes addressed issues on money, settlements and payments, personal finance, income, expenses, budget, taxes and taxation of individuals, banking services for the public, insurance, the basics of the financial market and investments, issues of private entrepreneurship and startups, bankruptcy of individuals, personal financial security, etc.

At the end of the course, the chairman of the Medeu district branch of the AMANAT party in Almaty, A. A. Azhimanov, handed certificates to all students.
