The most important conversation about family

On the 6th of September 2024, a literary lounge "This great thing is family" was held on the eve of Family Day. The Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai KazNPU Specialized Lyceum №165 and the Krylov City Children`s Library organized the meeting.

The conversation is a vivid illustration of the quotation from the speech of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev: "Knowledge of the roots and honouring of family traditions at all times took a special place in the self-consciousness of our people. And today they play an important role in forming a new quality of our nation".

The respectful and lively conversation about family in the literature of Kazakhstan, about the role of family in human life touched both eleventh-graders of lyceum and students of philology of Abai KazNPU. Scientist, poet, and translator Kairat Zhanabaev talked about the traditions of the Kazakh family and how the family is portrayed in Mukhtar Auezov`s novel "The Path of Abai".

The speech of Dina Sabirova, PhD, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai KazNPU was devoted to the world of family in modern Kazakh literature. Dina Sabirova on the example of contemporary literature of Kazakhstan showed that the main things in the family are mutual understanding and spiritual closeness.

The conversation between scientists, lyceum students and university students was rich and fascinating. Participants of the literary lounge expressed the desire that such meetings would become a tradition.
