Development of forms of dual education in Abay University

On November 13, 2024, within the framework of the dual system of education, which is being implemented under the project KAZDUAL (`Introduction of dual system in Kazakhstan`, ERASMUS+ programme, EU 6188310-EPP-1-2020-1-KZ-EPPKA2-CBHE-SP) students of the 3rd year of specialty 6B01303 - `Primary education with information and communication technologies` (Russian department) of Abay University held an extracurricular event `A visit to Grandpa Krylov` in the library of the New Generation School (NGS) .

The event was prepared within the framework of classes on the disciplines:   `Children`s literature with a workshop on expressive reading` (under the guidance of Master, senior lecturer Bekbaeva Mariam), Workshop on the development of digital literacy of younger students and Workshop on the creation of multimedia educational products (under the guidance of Master, lecturer Sambet Dinara).

Objectives of the event: generalisation of knowledge about the works of I.A. Krylov, development of creative abilities and communicative competence of students, cultivation of interest in classical literature and moral qualities of personality.

The event was attended by 3rd grade students, who were able to immerse themselves in the world of I.A. Krylov`s works through quizzes, dramatisations of fables, creative contests and literary games. Multimedia support, such as presentations and tasks on the screen, made the class more exciting. One of the highlights was the competition for the best performance of the characters of fables, which allowed not only to reveal the children`s artistic abilities, but also to deepen their understanding of the moral lessons of the works.

The event demonstrated the importance of integrating theory and practice into the learning process, as well as the effectiveness of dual training. The students demonstrated a high level of professional training, including skills in working with children, digital literacy and techniques for creating educational multimedia products.

A special role in the organisation of the event was played by candidate of pedagogical sciences, professor of the Department of Elementary Education Akpaeva Asel, methodologist of the New Generation School (NGS) Kashkimbaeva Diana, head of the industrial practice of students-duals teacher of primary classes of the New Generation School NGS Bekmuratova Raushan.
