A meaningful event dedicated to the Language Festival


The Faculty of Philology of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University took part in the event `Honoring the National Teacher`, organized on the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan, which is celebrated in honor of the birthday of Akhmet Baitursynuly - the spiritual leader of the nation, the National Teacher, a distinguished Alash figure, statesman and public activist, Turkologist scholar, poet, translator, and publicist.


The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Professor Alua Tanzharykova; Vice Dean for Social and Educational Affairs, Magzhan Zhumagulov; Professor Balkiya Kasym from the Department of Kazakh Language Theory and Teaching Methods; Head of the Akhmet Baitursynuly Center, Roza Bakbergenova; as well as students from the University of Friendship of Nations (People`s Republic of China) and academic mobility students from different regions of Kazakhstan. Participants laid flowers at the monument in Akhmet Baitursynuly Park and at the bust in front of his museum house.


Foreign guests and 2nd-year students of the `Kazakh Language and Literature` program viewed the exhibition `Akhmet Baitursynuly - the National Teacher`, attended a roundtable discussion dedicated to the scholar`s legacy, listened to reports and heartfelt speeches of the guests, and witnessed the ceremony of presenting valuable artifacts to the museum collection.


In her speech, Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Alua Vasiliyevna, emphasized that honoring the names and works of Alash leaders is a sacred duty of the Kazakh people. On this remarkable day, marking both the birthday of the National Teacher and the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan, sincere gratitude was expressed on behalf of Abai University to Lazzat Sagyndykova, Director of the Almaty City Museums Association; Raihan Imakhanbet, Head of the Akhmet Baitursynuly Museum-House and renowned scholar; event host Adilet Akhmet; and the museum staff for organizing such a meaningful program.
