STRENGTHENING STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF UZBEKISTAN

On November 24, an official meeting took place in Tashkent between Bolat Tilep, Chairman of the Board and Rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (KazNPU), and Inom Majidov, Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan. The event was attended by vice-rectors for international relations and scientific work, as well as faculty deans from both universities, who discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation in education and science.

The parties emphasized the need for joint initiatives in higher education, setting common goals to develop dual-degree master`s programs, expand academic mobility, enhance faculty professional development, and advance scientific research in pedagogy, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.

The initial results of this collaboration are already visible. KazNPU students are studying at the National University of Uzbekistan through an external academic mobility program. In addition, researchers from both universities are conducting joint studies on hyperbolic system control and stability theory of differential systems, with results published in five articles in Q1 and Q2 Scopus-indexed journals.

A new scientific project for 2026–2028, titled `Numerical Study of Boundary Control Problems for Multidimensional Symmetric Hyperbolic Systems,` has been conceptualized and is being implemented under the leadership of Professor A. Berdyshev.

During the discussions, opportunities were considered to expand academic mobility for students and PhD candidates, strengthen collaboration between research supervisors, and launch 1+1 dual-degree programs in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Memorandum of Cooperation between the universities was extended, marking a new stage of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in science and education. This agreement reflects a high level of mutual trust and shared interest in developing the regional scientific and educational space.
