THE EVENT “HONESTY IS THE PATH TO INTEGRITY!”

WAS HELD

Ahead of December 9 – International Anti-Corruption Day – a meaningful meeting aimed at strengthening the principles of honesty and integrity was held at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. The initiative was organized by the University is Anti-Corruption Compliance Service in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts and included a series of educational and awareness-raising activities for students.

 

One of the highlights of the program was an exhibition prepared by the Faculty of Arts. In their works, students creatively reflected the issues of injustice and corruption in society, expressing their civic stance through artistic compositions. The pieces presented by young artists left a strong impression on both the university community and the event’s guests.

The meeting was opened by the Head of the Administration of Abai University, Zhanatbek Ishpekbayev, who emphasized that the university has been systematically implementing measures to cultivate a culture of honesty.

– “The fight against corruption is the responsibility not only of the state but of every citizen. Justice must be strengthened not only by law but also by conscience,” he noted.

The special guest of the event, former Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alik Shpekbayev, spoke to students about the importance of honest work, quality education, and personal responsibility.

– “The main goal of state policy in this area is not punishment, but prevention. If you learn to choose the honest path today, you will follow this principle throughout your future professional life. Whether in exams or in your career, choose real knowledge, not the easy way,” said Alik Shpekbayev.

 

During the meeting, the best works of the students who participated in the Faculty of Arts’ creative contest were recognized, and awards were presented to the winners. In addition, student theatre groups from various faculties performed stage productions highlighting the harm that corruption causes to society. The new play “Corruption” by the student theatre “Qaganat” left a deep impression on the audience, vividly portraying the consequences of bribery for individuals and society is development.

 

A representative of the Department of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs in Almaty, Aidana Nurmagambetova, provided students with recommendations on building legal awareness and fostering principles of integrity.

The event held at Abai University not only promoted the ideas of honesty and justice among young people but also contributed to strengthening their sense of civic responsibility.
