Ethnocultural festival "We were united by Kazakhstan"

On 30 April 2018 the Department for Educational, Social Work and Youth Policy and the Department of Philological Disciplines for Foreign Citizens and the Pre-University Preparation of the Faculty for Foreign Citizens and Pre-University Training (Foundation) organized an ethno-cultural festival "We were united by Kazakhstan" dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Department of philological sciences for foreign citizens and the Day of Unity of People of Kazakhstan.

Honorary guests of the festival were the rector of Abai KazNPU Takir Balykbaev, the Consul General of the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan Jeong Sin-min, the first vice-rector of Abai KazNPU Maktagali Bektemesov, the vice-rector for Research and International Cooperation of Abai KazNPU Aktolkyn Kulsarievа, professor, member of the Council of the People`s Assembly Kazakhstan Kniyaz Mirzoev and others.

The students and teachers of the International Kazakh-Chinese Language College arrived under the direction of the Deputy Director for International Relations Anuar Saule, students and teachers of Al-Farabi KazNU, Zh. Yelebekov Republican Variety and Circus College, T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, KazSFPU, pupils of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of the chemical-biological direction, the secondary school of the village of Chu of the Zhambyl region.  

Special congratulatory video greeting was sent by: Irina Pereverzeva, Consul of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Almaty, Alexey Yudin, Head of the Department for Work with Foreign Students of the Moscow State Regional University, Louise Zhubatova, Deputy Director of the Institute for Harmonious Human Development of the National Scientific and Practical Educational and Wellness Center "Bobek" teachers of M.Auezov South-Kazakhstan State University, graduates and students from Vietnam, South Korea, China.

Opening the festival, Rector Takir Balykbayev congratulated all those gathered with the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan and the anniversary of the University, and noted that such festivals support national traditions, develop friendship among nations and aimed at civic-patriotic education.

Participants of the festival from the PRC, South Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, Iran, Hong Kong, the Republic of Ghana, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and other countries delighted the audience with bright and unusual numbers.  

From the first minutes of the festival the scale of the event can be estimated, when many participants in national costumes appeared on the stage and sang a song dedicated to the beloved University in the Kazakh and Russian languages.

"Such holidays help students of different nationalities to get closer and understand each other`s culture and traditions," said Honorary Guest of the Festival Consul General of the Republic of Korea Consulate in Kazakhstan JeongSeung Min.

Colorful costumes, bright decorations, melodic songs and incendiary dances delivered guests a real pleasure and gave an unforgettable experience.
