Charitable action-marathon «Abai unі»

From May 24 to May 30, 2018, within the framework of the 90th anniversary of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, the Department for Educational, Social Work and Youth Policy and the institutes, held a charitable action-marathon «Abai uni» in orphanages and boarding schools of the city of Almaty on the eve of the International Children`s Day.

The action started on 24 May with the charity event «Ayaly Alakan», organized in the student hostel No. 2 by the Institute of Geography and Natural Sciences, then continued in City Children`s Home No. 1, where the teachers and students of the Institute organized a gala concert and children`s games. As a result of the event, the active participants were presented with various gifts and sweets.

The same day activists of the Institute of History and Law held a historical and intellectual competition «Sen belesin be...?» in boarding school No. 98. The cognitive contest, which also provided an opportunity for communication with volunteers, became an important and bright event for children. The children, distinguished by their activity, were awarded a cup of the rector and diplomas.

On 25May, the charitable action continued in the City Children`s Home No. 1 with a festive event «Meyirimdi Bol», where the collective of the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports covered a festive dastarkhan, giving children a lot of fun.

The staff of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education visited the Regional Children`s Home No. 1 on 27May, where the cognitive action «Men Abaidi okymyn» was held. During the event the children read Abai`s poetry, the best readers were awarded prizes and gifts on behalf of the organizers. The next day in the same orphanage, students of the Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics gave children toys, sweets, clothes and organized a festive concert «Kishige izet.»

On 28May, volunteers from the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology provided targeted assistance to a large family, giving each of the children clothes, sweets and toys.

At the end of the charity action-marathon on May 30 representatives of the Department for Educational, Social Work and Youth Policy, Committee on Youth Affairs and Student Union at the boarding school No. 10 for children from low-income families organized a cultural and entertainment event «Izguilikti іsszholynda.» Within the framework of the event, the University activists organized sports competitions, intellectual games and a festive concert.

The guest of the event, the deputy of Maslikhat of Almaty city, a member of the parliamentary faction of the Maslikhat of the party «Nur Otan» in Almaty Mukhit Azirbayev congratulated all the children on the holiday and presented the boarding school sports supplies as a gift.

A fascinating and exciting program did not leave any child indifferent. Children and the creative teams of the university sang, danced, had fun. How much joy and unconcealed delight was in their eyes! As a result of the event, distinguished participants were awarded prizes, diplomas and memorable gifts prepared by the student union.

Thanks to the efforts of the University staff, the charity action-marathon «Abai uni», organized in honor of the International Children`s Day, gave children a lot of warmth and positive emotions.
