Republican United Mediation Day

On 3 August, 2018 in the press room of the Friendship House of Almaty took place an event timed to the Republican single day of mediation. Leaders and activists of republican and urban ethno-cultural associations, representatives of the APK Eurasian Academy of Law named after D.A. Kunaev, representatives of city and district courts, prosecutor`s offices of Almaty city, mediation centers, professional and unprofessional mediators, representatives of the People`s Assembly of Kazakhstan. Among the participants were representatives of the Chair of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

As part of the event, representatives of city and district courts, prosecutors` offices, representatives of the ECO city of Almaty and APK structures, made speeches. During the event, residents of the city, interested in mediation assistance, also received a consultation.

The speeches began with a welcoming speech by Deputy Chairman of the APK of Almaty - Kazbek Mamsurov. He noted the importance of mediation as a tool for settling interethnic disputes.

The moderator of the event was the scientific employee of the Chair of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan Abai KazNPU Bolysbek Battalkhanov. He explained to the audience the essence, purpose and importance of mediation, as well as the stages of concluding mediation agreements and mediation procedures. The event was also attended by deputy chairman of the Republican Turkish ethnocultural association "Akhyska" Shahismail Asiyev, judge of the Medeu district court Kamchat Umbetalieva, chairman of the Kazakh Russian Cultural Center Vsevolod Lukashev, professional mediator Erzhigit Segizbay. All speakers noted the importance of mediation in the modern world, explained and named the distinctive features of mediation procedures in this or that sphere.

In addition to speeches, a master class on mediation was held for journalists and media representatives, during which media features were explained.

The program of the event included receiving and advising citizens who have questions about labor, legal and other disputes. Representatives of the Center conducted reception for Development of Mediation, prosecutors, trade unions and courts. In total, 12 citizens applied for consultations this day. They were provided with advice on matters relating to labor disputes, non-enforcement of judgments, land relations, housing disputes and complaints against law enforcement agencies. A total of 150 people took part in the event. Among them were pensioners, workers of enterprises, self-employed, students, disabled people and others.

The event ended with words of gratitude from citizens who received important help for them.
