«Mathematical modeling and information technology in education and science»

On 3-4 October, 2018 at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, VIII International Scientific and Methodological Conference «Mathematical Modeling and Information Technologies in Education and Science», dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the university.

The main objectives of the conference are to discuss topical issues of mathematics, computer science and information and mathematical modeling, the pressing problems of informatization and digitalization of education, as well as STEM - education; Digitization of pedagogical measurement to ensure the quality of instruction in natural science disciplines.

The conference was attended by the rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University Takir Balykbayev, rector of Moscow State Pedagogical University, President of the Eurasian Association of Pedagogical Universities Alexey Lubkov (Moscow), Executive Director of the Eurasian Association of Pedagogical Universities (EAPU) Edward Nikitin, Rector of the Pomeranian Academy, Professor Zbigniew Osadovsky (Poland, Slupsk), Honorary Rector Pedagogical University Hans Schachl (Austria), Honorary Rector of Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University Srbui Gevorkian, Corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Education, professors of Moscow State Pedagogical University, KSPU named after P. Astafiev, Perm State National Research University, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Institute of Information and Computing Technologies, representatives of universities in Kazakhstan, as well as heads of departments, teaching staff and doctoral students of Abai KazNPU.

At the beginning of the event, grand opening of «Pedagogical STEM - Park» (STEM-association of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) based on the Abai KazNPU took place.

At the opening of the conference, rector Takir Balykbayev congratulated those present on the upcoming significant date of the 90th anniversary of the university, spoke about the achievements and high potential of Abai KazNPU, which is the leading scientific and educational center in the field of pedagogy of Kazakhstan.

Noting the relevance of the theme of the conference, the rector emphasized: «Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University is the main center of teaching and methodological support for the training of teachers in the country. We have started implementation of a new curriculum model for pedagogical specialties, prepared jointly with foreign partners. The conference will discuss ways to implement the Digital Kazakhstan program and analyze the possibilities of using the benefits of digitalization, as well as summarize the domestic and foreign experience of introducing IT technologies into university educational processes, developing and improving the quality of the staff of educational organizations. Digitization has great potential, capable of completely changing the methodology and every step in the learning process. Especially in the field of higher education, where online courses, trainings and innovative methods of acquiring knowledge are already in great demand.

It is advisable to develop a detailed curriculum, including the development of laboratory work on the above courses and other documents necessary for the successful implementation of this training course. Relevant research is currently being conducted by the international scientific laboratory of the problems of informatization of education and educational technologies functioning in KazNPU and the department «Informatics and informatization of education».

In the first part of the conference presentations were made by Professor Tamagawa university Seiji Moriya (Japan), Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of Omsk State Pedagogical University Mikhail Lapchik, corresponding member of RAE, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor of Perm State National Research University Yevgeny Henner, Corr.m. of RAE, Professor of Moscow State Pedagogical University Sergey Grigoriev, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor of the Institute of Information and Computing Technologies Maksat Kalimoldaev.

Scientists discussed the state and prospects of development of information and computing technologies in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the objectives of the study and the content of the school subject «Informatics», engineering education issues.

In the second part of the conference, the moderator was the first vice-rector of Abai KazNPU Maktagali Bektemesov. The following issues were discussed: problems and ways of effective use of digital technologies in education; spectrum structure of ordinary differential operators on a segment; features of the description of kinetic transitions in gas mixtures by numerical simulation methods; methods of identifiability of inverse problems in biology and medicine; actual tasks of the practice of pedagogical measurements in higher education.

The panel sessions of the two-day international conference continued in five directions: mathematics, computer science, and information and mathematical modeling; inverse and incorrect tasks of natural science; informatization and digitalization of education; digitalization of physical and mathematical education and STEM - education; pedagogical measurements in the conditions of digitalization of education.
