Abai Universirty offers PGCE program courses

Do you have a university degree, but are unable to teach in educational institutions? You have the opportunity to take a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) course.

Abai KazNPU offers training on certificate courses for pedagogical retraining of people who have a professional education, but do not have pedagogical education.

The courses are open to all who wish to enter the profession of a teacher for the first time in the relevant profile. The retraining programme is implemented in accordance with the Rules for Retraining of Educators*.

The PGCE program has a number of benefits for the education system:

- Specialization in specific subject areas;

- Professional development opportunities;

- Reduction of teacher shortages and prevention of teacher attrition in the profession;

- Opportunities to obtain additional training modules in pedagogical programs.

The study period is 6 months; documents are accepted within a year; trainees who have successfully completed the teacher retraining program will be issued a certificate with a series and a number included in the national educational database.

The training format is distance learning, using the Moodle platform.

When calculating the course fee the recognition of learning outcomes of mastered disciplines as well as teaching practice in the amount of 10 ECTS for the persons working in the position of a teacher in educational organizations of any form of ownership is carried out.

List of required documents:

- Application of the template issued;

- A copy of the identity card (2 pieces);

- Diploma (original) and notarized transcript;

- Photo 3 x 4 (2 pcs.). Currently, admission is available for all areas of school teacher training according to the list of educational programs:

* Rules of pedagogical retraining are developed in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 10 of the Law of RK dated December 27, 2019 "On the status of the teacher" and determine the order of pedagogical retraining (hereinafter - the Courses) of persons with professional education, not having pedagogical education, who are entering the profession of a teacher on the appropriate profile for the first time.
