Charity event «Our Children»

From May 15 to 31, 2019, in the framework of the «Abai Uni» marathon charity event dedicated to the International Children`s Day, volunteers of the «Meyrіm» club held a charity event «Our Children». The goal is socio-pedagogical support and financial assistance for the treatment of a four-year-old baby named Ayaru suffering from cerebral palsy.

It should be noted that the action started on May 15 at the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology with a meeting with the parents of the sick girl. Further, the charity event continued with the assistance of the Department for Educational, Social Work and Youth Policy and all the institutions of our university.

The most active part was taken by the teaching staff and students of the institutes of natural science and geography, history and law, arts, culture and sports, philology and multilingual education, mathematics, physics and computer science.

The implementation of the charity event in the Holy Month of Ramadan united the whole teaching staff and the students of the university. A child who has been ill for four years will undergo a unique rehabilitation course in the center of the Czech Republic.

On May 31, the funds collected in the framework of the action - 425,000 tenge - were handed to the parents of the sick baby with the participation of representatives of the Department for Educational, Social Work and Youth Policy, the Committee for Youth Affairs and volunteer students. The charitable club «Meyrіm» expressed gratitude to all good people for their desire to help the little girl in need.

We thank university rector Takir Ospanovich, students-volunteers of the «Meyrіm» club, the whole teaching staff and students of the university», said the parents of baby Asyl and Gulzat.
