«Abai readings» in honor of the 175th anniversary of the great steppe poet and thinker
From October 25 to November 2, 2019, the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education of Abai KazNPU, together with the Heritage of Diaspora Public Association at the Embassy of South Korea in the Republic of Kazakhstan, held the Abai Readings in honor of the 175th anniversary of the great steppe poet and thinker A. Kunanbaev. Students and schoolchildren from 17 educational institutions of Almaty read poetry and performed songs of Abai. The jury consisted of teachers from the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education - Gulzhikhan Shakarman, Aizhan Kartaeva and Erlan Kassenov.
The readings, in particular, were attended by students of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov, KazNU named after al-Farabi, the Circus and Variety College named after Zh.Elebekov, as well as 52 students from the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education. They showed their knowledge of Kazakh and Korean literature.
As a result of the event in the «Poetry» genre, the first place was taken by a 2nd year student of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education Nurlybai Balnur (leader - Roza Bakbergenova), the second - 1st year student Tulegen Madina (leader - Gulsamal Duysembina), the third place was shared by Aldongar Symbat (the head is Mayra Zhunisova), Tuyebaev Zhebe (the head is Aigul Amirbekova) and Adilbek Marzhan (the head is Abyr Karlygash). All winners are also students of our university.
Representatives of the Embassy of South Korea thanked the students of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education for their activity and creativity and presented the winners with special prizes.
