Abai KazNPU Rector met with Consul General of Republic of Turkey in Almaty

 

  

 

On 26 November 2019 Abai KazNPU Rector Takir Balykbayev met with new Consul General of Republic of Turkey in Almaty MrAli Rıza Akıncı, Mr Mahmut Agirman, Consul General Attache on Education and Erken Orazbekov, Executive Assistant to the Consul General.

 

Rector Takir Balykbayev expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests for the visit and presented brief information about background and activities of the university and partnerships with Turkish universities.

 

Speaking about the development and strengthening of relations with universities of the Republic of Turkey, university rector Takir Balykbayev noted that Turkey was one of the first to recognize the country`s independence and always supported the development of a sovereign republic.

 

In response, Ali Ryza Akıncı emphasized his interest in developing partnerships in education and research of Turkish universities with Abai KazNPU that underpinned by the historical and cultural community of the two fraternal countries. He also noted the contribution to the teaching and learning of the Senior Lecturer Osman Kabadayi from the University of Ahi Evran, who has been teaching at the Department of Oriental Languages ​​and Translation Abai KazNPU since 2017.

 

During the conversation, Ali Ryza Akıncı expressed initiative to attract students from Turkey, to participate in university events dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Abai and to facilitate partnerships with the Eurasian Research Institute at the Akhmet Yassaui International Kazakh-Turkish University.

 

Education ttaché Mahmut Agyrman, in turn, suggested that in order to increase the bilateral exchange of students and student recruitment, Abai KazNPU should re-submit request to be listed on the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey.

 

University rector Takir Balykbayev expressed his full readiness to support joint initiatives and projects in the field of education and science.
