City volleyball tournament among schoolchildren of Almaty

As part of the Year of Volunteers in Kazakhstan, on February 29, 2020, the student administration of Abai KAZNPU held a city volleyball tournament among schoolchildren. The tournament «ABAI UNIVERSITY CUP» was attended by 18 teams from schools of all eight districts of the southern capital.

The purpose of the event is the development of mass sports, supporting the interest of young volleyball fans in continuing education.

The rector of the university, Takir Balykbayev, spoke at the grand opening of the tournament. He recalled the words of the Head of State: «Sport is the main guarantee of health», he emphasized the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle among the younger generation and wished the participants success and new victories.

The honored guest of the event, the famous poet, statesman and public figure Olzhas Suleimeinov noted that a person at any age should monitor his health, play sports. According to him, it helps a lot in everyday life: in work and study.

The tournament was held among girls in the olympiad system. In a bitter struggle, the winners were schools No. 154 and 176. According to the results of the competition and the counting of votes on social networks, the student of school No. 26 Ibraimkulova Laila won the nomination «Best post».

The victory in the «Best Player» nomination was awarded to Asat Tansholpan, a student of school No. 165. And the title «Best Defender» was awarded to a student of school No. 26 Gabdullayeva Karina. The student of school No. 176 Birzhan Nurshapagat was recognized as «the best coordinator».

Among the schools participating in the competition, the team of school No. 26 won the third place; and the second place was won by the school No. 154. The women`s team of school No. 176 won the first place and the cup of the rector of Abai KazNPU.

Special diplomas and valuable gifts were awarded to the participants, and prize cups and medals were also awarded to the winners.
