Webinar «Teaching students with disabilities in higher education»

The sixth webinar of the Virtual laboratory for inclusive education was held on July 30, 2020 at 15.00. The theme of the webinar: «Teaching students with disabilities in higher education». Moderator of the webinar-doctor of pedagogical Sciences, Director of the Resource Advisory center for inclusive education for universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan Movkebayeva Z.A.

The webinar addressed the following issues:
1. Organization of distance learning for students with disabilities. Speaker: Zulfia Movkebayeva Akhmetvalieva, doctor of pedagogical Sciences, Director of the consultative Resource center on inclusive education for universities of Kazakhstan.
2. The inclusive culture of interaction with people with visual disabilities. The speaker: Zhanysbaev Madiyar, consultant for people with visual disabilities Almaly district of Almaty, member of the Commission on refloresta of SFU in Almaty.
3. Creating an accessible information environment at the University: overview of the main steps and methods. Speaker: Ziyat Abdikimov, expert Manager for assistive technologies and accessibility of information at Nazarbayev University Information Services.

The report of the speakers aroused great interest among the audience. At the end of the report, the participants asked questions, and there was a discussion of the problems that arise when teaching students with disabilities at the University.

The webinar was attended by the administration and teachers of preschool and school organizations in various regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, offices of psychological and pedagogical correction, psychological and medical-pedagogical consultations, representatives of NGOs, teaching staff of higher educational institutions, etc.

The webinar was held within the framework of the Virtual laboratory of inclusive education, organized on April 29, 2020 by the Resource Advisory center for inclusive education for universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the Abai Kazakh National pedagogical University.
