International debate on online and offline education
The international debate on different types of education "Online or Offline Education, What is the Best Option?" was held at the Abai KazNPU.
The dispute was organized by Plekhanov Russian University of Economics (Torosyan Liya Davidovna, Grigoryan Armine Eduardovna - Head of the Department of Foreign Languages) and Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (Coordinators: Bekbenbetova Kazna Asanova - Vice-chairman of the Department of Educational Work and Youth Policy, Sapargaliyeva Bayan Oralkhanovna - Head of the Office for International Programs and Cooperation, Zhumabekova Aigul Kazkenovna - Scientific Supervisor, professor at the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual education).
The peculiarity of the event was that the participants of the debate were the graduate and undergraduate students of these universities. They were divided into two groups: the students of Plekhanov University maintained their position for offline education, and our students were for online education.
During the discussion, the arguments for offline education were named and also an opportunity to directly consult with their teachers, the arguments for offline education were also presented that the Russian students can communicate with their friends, hold different university events - KVN, international conferences, etc.
The advantages of online education, for example, for graduate and undergraduate students, is that the ability to combine work and study, without wasting time on traveling by transport. It was noted that online learning is the education of the future; this is especially true now, in connection with the current pandemic situation in the world. In addition, Kazakhstani online education has good potential for the development and improvement of specialized educational online platforms. Our guys talked about the Univer and MOODLE platforms used at a university level and other Internet technologies.
Since the debates were held in English, from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, the 2nd year graduate students of the specialty "Translation Studies" Zarina Yesbulatova, Nauryzbai Abdrassil, Tangsholpan Tashay; and the 1st and 3rd year undergraduate students of the specialty "Foreign Languages", Nadu Diana and Zhazieyva Tomiris participated. The teachers from Moscow highlighted that our students had the high level of English language proficiency, which became, in turn, the pride of their teachers.
The international dialogue was interesting and friendly. The students of both universities acquainted with each other and they will communicate with each other.
All the participants from our university were awarded special diplomas of one of the leading universities of the Russian Federation.
