Students and teachers have undergone psychological assistance courses

As part of the 2020-2021 curriculum, this month, at the initiative of the Student Rectorate, course seminars were organised on the theme «Improving psychological skills and culture among students and teachers in a remote format».

Based on the meeting schedule of the Department of Academic Affairs, approved by each institute, psychological courses were regularly held on the Zoom platform, consisting of two meetings on working days at 3 pm and 4.30 pm, and on Saturdays - at 12 pm and 2 pm outside the academic curriculum.

In this project, seminars were held by the Director of the Psychological Assistance Centre, Professor J.Y. Namazbayeva, practitioners T.S. Isabekova and E.V. Davidenko as part of specially oriented psychological and methodological programmes for three different groups of drivers, policemen and freshmen.

As a result of the two-week psychological seminars, only 1000 people took part for the first time, including classrooms - 173 trainees, 241 teachers and 586 freshmen. It was established that the participants of the seminar need moral and psychological help and medical advice. At the same time, in connection with the annual updating of psychological and pedagogical methods, the subjects of psychologists have increased their importance because the necessary psychological and consulting work is carried out in a timely manner: control, expertise, cognitive knowledge, exchange of opinions, orientation on spiritual knowledge, etc., which is necessary for students, teachers and trainees.

Comprehensive scientific, practical, cognitive and educational information provided by specialists of the Centre for Psychological Assistance at university level in the context of the pandemic and in the process of distance learning has found its targeted support from students. In the future, it is planned to implement this initiative on a commercial or non-commercial basis through special seminars, counselling for inclusion, psychology, pedagogy and physiology in educational institutions of the country, especially in schools and kindergartens.

In the course of the above mentioned seminars, the teaching staff of the Psychological Assistance Centre and the University`s structural units were awarded 72-hour certificates and letters of thanks from the rector.
