Ecological workshop «Our Birds»

On February 18, 2021, educators of the Biology Department Associate Professor Batyrova K.I. and teacher Akhmetova A.B. organized a republican conference on the theme «Ecological workshop «Our Birds». The participants were introduced to the birds of our region as well as to the species and peculiarities of nesting, an important period in the life of birds. It should be noted that very first and primitive nests are just eggs on the ground. The bird chooses a place, turns in it, forming a small depression. In the course of evolution, birds began to move to different elevations: rocks, bushes, trees. Gradually, the nests became more complex, from the most primitive of a few twigs lying on the branches of trees - such as a turtle dove, to complex structures, such as weaver or penduline birds, who weaves a mitten. That`s how our birds can surprise us.

The presented material helped to achieve the goals of the conference, which includes the development of not only environmental awareness of students, but also the formation of a humane attitude towards representatives of the bird world through various activities.

The conference «Ecological workshop «Our Birds» was attended by more than 30 participants from 28 educational institutions, including more than 10 gymnasiums, 3 lyceums, and 8 general education schools. In addition, biology teachers from Pavlodar, Kyzyl-Orda, and Talgar took part in the conference.
