Kazakhstan and China: historical aspects of social relations of the two countries


On February 26, 2021, in honor of the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Abai KazNPU hosted an international online conference «Kazakhstan and China: historical aspects of social relations of the two countries.»

 

The event was dedicated to strengthening the role and prestige of our country in the international community, relations between Kazakhstan and China, Kazakhstan`s foreign policy in the current process of globalization and regionalization, as well as issues and prospects of regional integration in Central Asia.

 

The conference was held in Kazakh, Chinese, Russian and English. Vice-rector for scientific work of Abai KazNPU, Sayabek Sakhiyev, Deputy Consul General of China in Almaty, Professor Zhong Hua, Director of the Institute of Oriental studies. R. B. Suleimenov Duken Masimhanuly, Director of the national center for the study of historical materials of the Institute of Oriental studies. R. B. Suleimenov, corresponding member of NAS RK Meruert Abuseitova, University of Food Tepe Ahmet Tashagyl (Istanbul, Turkey), Professor of the ENU them. L. N. Gumilyova Tlegen Sadykov and other representatives of a number of foreign and domestic universities presented their reports on all areas of bilateral relations.

 

The Vice-rector for scientific work of Abai KazNPU Sayabek Sakhiyev opened the conference. «Kazakh-Chinese relations have deep roots. Over the centuries, our countries have gone through different stages of political interaction and have sought to get to know each other since time immemorial. Trade has played a key role in this process, strengthening relations between neighboring countries. A special place is occupied by the Great Silk Road, which connects Kazakhstan and Central Asia with China and Europe with Asia - on a global scale. The Great Silk Road is a source of analysis of historical processes not only between the two countries, but also throughout Asia and the East. Historical roots are the source and support of the development of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, their peaceful coexistence», he said, wishing success to the participants of the event.

 

In turn, the Deputy Consul General of China in Almaty Zhong Hua said: «It is a great honor for me to take part in today`s conference. First of all, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Abai KazNPU and the Arman Information and Consulting Center for organizing an online conference on China-Kazakhstan relations. As you know, Abai KazNPU is one of the oldest universities in Kazakhstan and makes an important contribution to the development of education in the country. We appreciate it very much.»

 

A collection of special scientific articles was also prepared and presented to the public as part of the conference. The director of the information and consulting center «Arman» Bazar Yrystanuly presented a collection of scientific books to young scientists seeking an in-depth study of Kazakh-Chinese relations and the library of the Department of World History.
