Abai university staff met with a deputy, Zhuldyz Suleimenova

On August 19, 2021, Abai KazNPU met with the faculty of the university at the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting was also attended by Darhan Bilyalov, Rector of Abai KazNPU, Raihan Bulekbayeva, a member of the Almaty maslikhat, Kairat Bisembaev, Deputy Chairman of the Almaty City Branch of the Nur Otan Party and Orynbasar Kudaibergenov, head of the Sustainable Development of Youth and Family Unit of the Almaty City Department of Public Development and the management of the university.

During the event there were discussed the topical issues of education and science development: training of new school principals and their deputies on educational work, methodologists, forming of new methods of teaching practice, robotics, reducing the gap in the quality of education between urban and rural schools, organization of special training courses on leadership and school management at Abai KazNPU, best graduates training at foreign universities, opening of inclusive schools.

It was noted that today the issues of upbringing come to the fore, the training and retraining of school staff, which is engaged in educational work, is implemented through the pedagogical universities. There was also an exchange of views among the participants of the meeting on current issues in the field of education.

Darkhan Bilyalov noted the importance of solving problems on training of educational personnel and leaders for schools, the need to provide training of teachers on inclusive education programs, to improve the professional skills of teachers, and training of school principals. The Rector spoke about the university`s vision of creating innovative educational programs, opportunities for professional development of teaching staff, teachers of educational institutions and the implementation of the programme of development of higher education in Kazakhstan.

Our university really has a scientific school, a powerful staff potential. Training of school principals is a very promising direction. For Abai University, as the first higher education institution and driver of the pedagogical sector in the country, it is not only an honor, but also a responsibility to contribute to the implementation of ambitious plans for the development of national education. The international practice of leadership in higher education is aimed at training school leaders, on whom the work of ordinary teachers, the training and education of children, as well as the entire infrastructure of the institution, depend. It is no secret that when a teacher moves into a leadership position, he or she often experiences difficulties due to lack of training in education management issues.

Zhuldyz Suleimenova noted that today the main task is to prepare quality teachers for schools in the country. New school principals should be selected from qualified specialists educated in universities. We hope that Abai KazNPU, the leader of pedagogical universities of the country, will actively organize retraining and professional development of such staff.

Vice-Rector for Strategy, Digitalisation and Internationalisation of Abai KazNPU, Aktolkyn Kulsarieva, stressed that the issues of training teaching staff are included in the development strategy of the university, and highlighted a number of ongoing projects for the training of teachers of a new formation.

Following the results of the meeting the deputies and other participants of the event expressed their readiness for joint activity for further development of Abai KazNPU.
