Cooperation with the Higher School of Economics (Moscow)
within the framework of an international scientific project

From 4 to 9 October, 2021, the Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia) hosted a seminar on the preparation of materials in the Kazakh language for testing among primary school students under a joint project of the Higher School of Economics and Abai KazNPU on the topic «Development of the Kazakh version of the tool for studying the formation of reading skills of primary school students».

Employees of the Higher School of Economics E.Y.Kardanova, A.Samodezhenkov and teachers of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education PhD Doctor, associate professor Samal Serikova and PhD Doctor, senior lecturer Aliya Ongarbayeva introduced the Kazakh version of «Bastau»: they uploaded their developed texts, tasks and sound series for testing, conducted trial testing with students of the first grade of Sh.Ualikhanov gymnasium №12 in Almaty. For this purpose, a cognitive laboratory was created, and 6 children were tested for digital content in the Kazakh language. Testing was successful.

The next task is to use the prepared tool to test several hundred primary school students of schools with the Kazakh language of instruction to determine the formation of reading skills.
