Work on anti-corruption continues

On October 11, 2021, under the leadership of the Chairman of the Board-Rector of Abai KazNPU Darkhan Bilyalov a meeting was held with the participation of directors of institutes, their deputies and heads of departments. The progress of anti-corruption activities carried out in the university was highlighted. Presentations were made by Deputy Chairman of the Board - Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Maktagali Bektemessov, commissioner for ethics and prevention of corruption risks Serikbay Nurgisayev.

In his speech S.U. Nurgisayev reported that in general the university activities aimed at compliance with the principles of academic integrity and anti-corruption are conducted in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan, approved the new members of the Anti-Corruption Council, conducted thematic surveys, meetings, lectures, creative competitions, round tables and the action «Honest Session» during the interim control of knowledge. In addition, one of the largest and most significant activities carried out is an anti-corruption review of the internal regulations of the university in order to identify corruption risks.

However, despite the implemented activities, the monitoring of social networks and chat rooms of the students showed that potential corruption facts still exist and the level and frequency of complaints and appeals are not reduced. It was reported that during the inspection of these applications and complaints as a result of non-compliance with the international standard ISO 37001-2016 of the anti-corruption management system implemented in our university and the ethical rules of the university the Head of the Military Department R.O.Rakyshev and two senior lecturers of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology were dismissed.
