Results of the online round table within the #ErasmusDays of KAZDUAL project
«Dual education on pedagogical specialties: experience and development prospects»

On October 15, 2021 in Abai KazNPU within the framework of #ErasmusDays and the current International project «KAZDUAL - implementation of the dual system in Kazakhstan» of Erasmus+ program was held an online Round table «Dual education on pedagogical specialties: experience and development prospects».

Organizers: Working group of the KAZDUAL project in Abai KazNPU - Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, Department of Science.

The aim of the meeting:
Identification of barriers to the introduction of dual education in pedagogical specialties. The KAZDUAL project is aimed at strengthening the role of universities, vocational training in colleges, enterprises in the organization of dual education.

The seminar was moderated by speaker of the event Bayan Sapargaliyeva - Postdoctoral researcher, coordinator of the KAZDUAL project. The speakers of the event were the experts of KAZDUAL project from Abai KazNPU - Galiya Abayeva - Director, Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, Saule Abisheva - Head, the Department of Russian Language and Literature, as well as Talgat Igissinov - Head, the Department of Commercialization, responsible for technical support of the project.

The working group`s members considered the theoretical aspects of the implementation the dual system in Kazakhstan. We discussed the specifics of dual education based on the experience of European universities: the German, Austrian models of dual education, the features of practice-oriented (competence-based learning). Summed up and analyzed the possibilities of realizing dual education in pedagogical specialties.

At the conclusion of the Round Table, the participants came to a consensus on defining the direction for STEM research as part of the implementation of project-based learning for the implementation of dual education, with the further introduction of new programs or adjustments to curricula. Also, the event participants supported the project`s working group in the intention to conduct research on the possibility of integrating pedagogical science with technical ones for training teachers in the field of dual education in the Observatory, which will be created at Abai KazNPU within the framework of the KAZDUAL project.

There were about 60 participants-interested persons, representatives of universities and organizations of Kazakhstan. Participants of the online event were invited to the next series of online webinars as part of the #ErasmusDays International Days held at the Abai KazNPU.
