Meeting with representatives of the Center «Pedagogical STEM Park»

and BilimLab digital resources

Rector of Abai KazNPU Darkhan Bilyalov met with representatives of the Center «Pedagogical STEM Park» and digital resources «BilimLab» at the Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics. During the event, Director of the Institute Murat Bekpatshayev and Head of the Department of Informatics and Informatization of Education Nurzhamal Oshanova, Director of the Center «Pedagogical STEM Park» Kuanysh Umbetbayev shared the latest news in STEM education and presented the work plan of the center.

Three laboratory rooms of the STEM pedagogical park are equipped with the latest cutting-edge technologies: 3D printers, laser cutting machine, interactive whiteboard, SOL 3D scanner, LEGO Education Mindstorms EV3 (robot constructor). The students presented their works such as the «Humanoid» robot to improve their programming knowledge, a mobile robot moving in any direction using an Arduino microcontroller (UNO and MEGA). Also in the pedagogical STEM-park there is a special club «Robotics» for students interested in robotics.

The services of the BilimLand platform are the main educational platform offered by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for use in the secondary education system. The peculiarity of this center is that you can work with the educational platform online and offline. On the basis of a contract with BilimLand, several works are already underway. One of them - the advanced training course for teachers «Formation of modern teacher competencies in the context of digital transformation of education», recently developed jointly with teachers of the Department of Informatics and Informatization of Education and BilimLand methodologists, was included in the list of educational programs of advanced training courses, agreed with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this course, school teachers and their future colleagues from all over the country can improve their qualifications. The course certificate helps teachers pass the attestation.

The rector noted the need for such processes in education as digitalization, automation, robotization, robotics and mechatronics, artificial intelligence, 3D object modeling technology, «big data exchange». The head of the university supported the further development of digital resource centers «Pedagogical STEM-Park», «BilimLab» and expressed confidence that the centers will make a significant contribution to the prospects of students. He also noted that it is necessary to improve the information portal of the center, establish close ties with schools, supervise the scientific work of students, organize Summer School courses, form a pedagogical STEM park as a practical base.
