The III International Abai Readings took place in Poland
«Abai: philosophy, poetics, reception»


The III International Abai Readings «Abai: philosophy, poetics, reception» dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan were held at the Pomor Academy in Slupsk (Poland) on November 25, 2021.


The scientific seminar «Abai readings» is an annual international event held on the basis of the Abai Center for Kazakh Culture and Science at the Department of Neophilology of the Pomor Academy in Slupsk.


The event is organized jointly with the long-term partner university of the Pomor Academy in Slupsk - Abai University, with the participation of representatives of the academic circles of Poland, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, as well as the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Gdansk. The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Poland provided an Honorary Patronage to the event.


At the opening of the seminar, Ms Vice-Rector for Strategic Development, Digitalization and Internationalization of Abai KazNPU, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aktolkyn Kulsarieva and Vice-Rector for Students of the Pomor Academy in Slupsk, Professor Danuta Gerchinska spoke.


The coordinator of the Center, PhD Dr. Maxim Ponomarenko, spoke about the projects that are being implemented at the moment. This is an exclusive interview with a descendant of the great Abai Lyayla Baimagambetova, in which she gives instructions to the participants of the seminar in Slupsk, as well as an action of reading Abai`s works in the Pomeranian Voivodeship of Poland.


During the international seminar, the participants presented scientific reports on the study of the literary and philosophical heritage of Abai.


Among the speakers were students of Abai KazNPU, who are now studying in Poland under the «Double Degree» program. These are students of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education Kudaibergen Unaikulov and Angelina Tarasova.
