Undergraduates visited the Museum of Political Repression Victims`Memory

On May 16, 2019, the 2nd year undergraduates of the specialty «6M012100 - Kazakh language and literature in schools with non-Kazakh language of instruction» of Academician S. Kirabayev Department of the Kazakh language and literature of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education of Abai KazNPU with group advisor Gulmira Yessirkepova visited the Museum of Political Repression Victims`Memory in the village Zhanalyk, Ili district of Almaty region.

Undergraduates met with the director of the museum Anes Garifolla and the museum staff, and received a lot of useful information.

The museum consists of two large halls and one conference hall. Archeological monuments and exhibits are presented in the first hall, and the second hall tells about the history of repression from 1916 to 1986, and a plate with the names of 5,000 people subjected to political repressions is installed on the wall and in this hall information about the biographical data of repressiononvictims is provided on electronic boards. During the visit, a short film about victims of political repression was shown to the museum guests in the conference room. There is an alley of monuments near the museum.
