Binary Interdisciplinary Lecture: "Cognitive Aspects of Speech and Thinking Development in Preschool Children"

On December 3, 2024, at the Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy, Associate Professor, PhD Gulbanu Abitova, and Acting Associate Professor, PhD Assem Bulshkebayeva, delivered a binary interdisciplinary lecture on the topic "Cognitive Aspects of Speech and Thinking Development in Preschool Children" for 2nd- and 3rd-year students of the 6B01201 - Preschool Education and Training program. Faculty members and 1st-year students of the 60110200 - Preschool Education program at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University named after Abdulla Qodiriy actively participated in the event.

The main idea of the binary lecture was to explore the cognitive aspects of speech and thinking development in preschool children at the intersection of two disciplines-"Methods of Speech Development in Preschool Children" and "Child Psychology"-and to demonstrate their practical applications. During the lecture, discussions focused on the interrelation between the stages of speech and thinking development, the development of speech functions in preschool children, and the cognitive aspects of children`s thinking.

Students presented their semester-long work, which included mental maps for speech development, a methodological model for speech development, podcasts, results of a social survey on child psychology issues, and collections of psychological games. In the concluding part of the lecture, using digital technologies, students created Euler diagrams and flowcharts to represent the development of speech and thinking in preschoolers, and conducted tests to assess the knowledge level of the participants.

The binary lecture highlighted the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in training future professionals, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of the theoretical foundations of the studied disciplines and their practical application. The use of modern technologies facilitated further development of students` skills in analysis, synthesis, and information visualization.

The collaborative efforts of all participants in this event marked an important step toward strengthening international cooperation in higher education.
