A solemn event dedicated to the "International Day of the Disabled"


Оn December 3, 2024, on the eve of the "International Day of People with Disabilities" with the support of the Department of Social and Youth Policy, under the leadership of Associate Professor Shirinbaeva Gulbakhira in the cultural and educational direction of the Meirim club, volunteer students of the specialty "6B01801-Social Pedagogy" organized a charity event for people with disabilities of the YERZI social rehabilitation center in Almaty.

 

Disabled People`s Day is not a festive date, but a reminder that people with disabilities live next to us, it is more difficult for them than for everyone else, and our duty is to pay attention to them through dear kindness, to help them both in word and deed.

 

It is worth noting that under the motto of the Meirim club - "The Road of goodness!" volunteer students held charity fairs from October 25 to December 2 in order to provide financial assistance to raise funds for the purchase of simulators necessary for people with disabilities.

 

During the events, about 405,200 thousand tenge were purchased for the amount collected within the framework of the actions (simulator for hip joint muscles) and an exercise bike Rider (for therapy of musculoskeletal functions). They were solemnly presented with a birthday cake to the YERZI social rehabilitation center, accompanied by kind songs and poems in the complex of the cultural and creative therapy program. At the stage of reflexive analysis, people with disabilities sincerely thanked caring citizens for their care and attention.

 

At the end of the event, a ceremony was held to award a special Letter of Thanks from the president of the NGO "Association of the Disabled "YERZI" Yerbol Igembergenov to volunteer students of the 1st year of the specialty "6B01801-Social Pedagogy" of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, who were active on a regular basis in volunteer activities.

 

The Meirim Volunteer Club expresses its support and respect to people with limited health opportunities, as well as great gratitude to everyone for working together in the volunteer movement and wishes the participants health and mental strength.
