Abai University and the Scientific and Practical Centre for Social Rehabilitation Development signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

On March 31, 2022, at Abai KazNPU a meeting of the rector Darkhan Bilyalov with representatives of the Scientific and Practical Centre for Development of Social Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the RK was held. The purpose of the meeting was to sign a memorandum of cooperation between Abai University and the Scientific and Practical Centre for Social Rehabilitation Development.

The event was also attended by the coordinator of the project group on development of support and assistance to children with ASD, mental and behavioural disorders, project expert Aynur Kudaibergenova, director of the Academic Affairs Department Khairulla Zhanbekov, director of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology Galiya Abayeva, director of the Department of Public Relations Rimma Abdykadyrkyzy.

Implementation of the Memorandum provides training of representatives of Abai KazNPU modern generally accepted international methods of complex assistance (psychological and pedagogical support and social rehabilitation of children with autism spectrum disorders, mental and behavioral disorders (hereinafter - children with ASD and MBD)) and subsequently training of students in these methods within the implementation of educational programs of the university. Successful trainees develop specialized and (or) author`s educational courses for implementation in the university educational program of bachelor`s and (or) master`s degree.

The Scientific and Practical Centre for the Development of Social Rehabilitation solves current problems of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of major diseases of hearing and prosthetic limbs of man on the basis of new innovative technologies. It has stable relations with foreign partners. The obtained knowledge is implemented and applied in practice.

During the meeting the rector noted the importance of cooperation aimed at implementing important tasks in the field of protection of the rights of special children and their families, the formation of public opinion to facilitate the integration of such children into society. It is necessary to provide children with special needs with properly developed educational programs. To this end, we are ready to create all conditions for sharing global experience and improving the qualifications of our specialists.

We discussed topical issues of the project to develop a system of support and assistance for children with ASD, mental and behavioural disorders.
