Meeting with an eco-blogger
On 6 April 2022, a meeting with eco-blogger Moldir Begimbet (@mop.moldir) was organised as one of the planned events of the Decade of Science in the field of «Ecology» for students of specialties «Ecology», «Geography» and «Tourism» of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Geography. She presented her lecture «Ecological lifestyle - the key to quality of life».
Moldir Begimbet`s main profession is journalism. But she is known as an eco-blogger, running her own Internet magazine on ecological problems in Kazakh language. In her subsequent professional career, having combined these two fields - journalism and ecology, she began to raise environmental issues and promote ecological education of population.
It should be noted that the sphere of blogger activity is the most common trend in modern society, especially among young people. Choosing the environmental direction, it promotes the principles of ecological literacy, ecological culture, development and implementation of ecologically creative activities.
The main purpose of the meeting with M. Begimbet - to discuss one of the most pressing problems of modern society, including among young people, promote environmental literacy, create environmentally conscious actions through simple ways of improving the overall culture of behavior.
Particular attention was paid to ways of keeping a clean environment, issues of competent sorting of household rubbish and transferring to special places for recycling. There was a close and in-depth exchange of views between the eco-blogger and the students. The students received enlightening answers to their questions about how to start, launch and develop eco-blogs in the future.
