Clean air of the city of Almaty

On November 21, 2019, by the Department of Geography, Ecology and Tourism of the Institute of Geography and Natural Sciences and the group of the Civil Initiative «Clean Air of Almaty» was organized the city environmental conference «Clean Air of the City of Almaty». As the venue for this conference was chosen Abai KazNPU, 225 lecture hall (Large conference hall).

At this conference, reports were presented by speakers on the possibilities and prospects of air purification in Almaty. In particular, the conference was held in the following main sections:
1. The fight against air pollution by vehicles
2. Approaches to reducing emissions of Almaty CHP
3. Problems with private sector gasification
4. Urban planning policy and its impact on air pollution
5. Analysis of the state of the atmosphere and the medical consequences of air pollution in Almaty

As a result of the conference, the participants adopted a Declaration containing requirements and proposals to local executive bodies, as well as measures that are necessary to achieve positive results in cleaning the air basin of Almaty.
