Meeting with Professor Frédéric Richard of the University of Poitiers at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University


On October 31, 2025, the Department of Chemistry of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University hosted a meeting with Professor Frédéric Richard - Full Professor at the University of Poitiers (France) and Associate Dean for International Relations at the Faculty of Fundamental and Applied Sciences (UFR SFA).

 

During his visit, Professor Richard presented the activities of the University of Poitiers and its Faculty of Sciences, providing detailed information on academic exchange opportunities, master`s and PhD programs, as well as key areas of international cooperation between universities. He emphasized the importance of strengthening scientific ties and sharing experience between Kazakhstan and France in the field of chemical education and research.

 

Professor Richard also highlighted the research activities of the Institut de Chimie des Milieux et Matériaux de Poitiers (IC2MP) - one of France`s leading scientific centers conducting fundamental and applied research in catalysis, green chemistry, renewable carbon conversion, chemical kinetics, and the development of porous materials. He shared his experience in leading research projects, spoke about his publications in top international journals, and emphasized the role of sustainable chemical technologies in modern science and industry.

 

Following the meeting, both sides expressed their willingness to continue consultations and explore prospects for cooperation in academic exchange of students and faculty members (Master`s and PhD levels).
The Department of Chemistry expresses its sincere gratitude to Professor Frédéric Richard for his visit, insightful lecture, and fruitful discussions. The visit became an important step toward strengthening international cooperation between Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University and the University of Poitiers.
