Scientific Internship in Japan: The International Research Experience of Chemistry PhD Students

PhD students of the 3rd year in the 8D01510-Chemistry program at the Institute of Natural Sciences and Geography of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Yessimkhаnova Kuttkyz and Mukhambetaliyeva Zukhra, participated in a scientific internship at Okayama University in Okayama, Japan, from November 10 to December 10, 2025, where they gained valuable international experience.

Their academic supervisor was Professor Hiroki Fujii. Their research focused on developing and evaluating the methodology for integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into chemistry education. The young scholars attended chemistry classes at leading Japanese universities, enhancing their knowledge and exploring innovative approaches to teaching chemistry in middle and high schools. Furthermore, they actively participated in seminars and symposia, exchanging ideas with global experts and expanding their perspectives on their research topics.
