A Modern-Format Lecture Delivered in the Course “Chemical Ecology”

On January 23, 2026, a lecture was delivered for 3rd-year students of the 6B01510 – “Chemistry” educational program within the course “Chemical Ecology” on the topic: “Goals and Objectives of Chemical Ecology. Biosphere, Noosphere, and Types of Environmental Pollution.”

The lecture was conducted by 2nd-year doctoral student Bekbolat Ibashov as part of his dissertation research. A key feature of the session was the integration of the TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) model into the lecture content through the systematic use of modern pedagogical approaches and digital technologies. Subject knowledge, teaching methodology, and technological tools were combined into a unified instructional process, giving the lecture a research-oriented format.

To enhance students` learning engagement and modernize the traditional lecture format, the session was organized using the Flipped Classroom approach. The course instructor, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Zhazira Mukataeva, ensured the effective use of video lectures available on the university`s educational platform for distance learning during the lesson.

Students reviewed the video materials and actively participated in discussions, analysis, and practical tasks during the class. As a result, students were not only passive listeners but active participants in the learning process.

This modern format contributed to increasing students` interest in the course, developing their critical thinking skills, and effectively integrating theoretical knowledge with practice. The lecture was conducted at a high academic and methodological level.
