A lecture was delivered on the topic “Chemistry of Wastewater and Methods of Its Treatment” within the discipline “Chemical Ecology”

On February 13, 2026, a lecture entitled “Chemistry of Wastewater and Methods of Its Treatment” was delivered to third-year students of the 6B01510 – Chemistry educational program within the course “Chemical Ecology.”

The lecture was conducted by second-year doctoral student Bekbolat Ibashov. The aim of the session was to provide a systematic analysis of the chemical composition of wastewater, its environmental impact, and the scientific foundations of modern treatment technologies. The lecture addressed the main pollutants found in industrial and domestic wastewater, their chemical properties, and associated environmental risks.

The educational process was organized based on the TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) model, which integrates subject content with digital technologies and effective pedagogical approaches. Interactive tasks, discussion elements, and problem-based questions were used to foster students` critical thinking skills. In addition, the course instructor — Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Zhazira Mukataeva — contributed to enhancing the academic and methodological quality of the session by integrating video lectures available on the university`s educational platform.

The lecture was aimed at improving the professional training of future chemistry specialists, fostering environmental responsibility, and developing the ability to scientifically analyze contemporary environmental issues.
