School and university: creative connections

On December 12, 2019, teachers and foreign students of the Department of philological specialties for foreign citizens visited the Kargaly specialized gymnasium No. 2 for talented children who already studying in three languages (Kargaly village of Zhambyl district of Almaty region). Foreign students from China, Egypt, South Korea and the Philippines participated in a festive program «Abay and Pushkin». They read poems of two great poets in Kazakh and Russian languages, showed one of dramatization work of A.Pushkin «The Tale of Tsar Saltan», recited excerpts from the novel by M. Auezov «The Path of Abai».

Director of the gymnasium Makhmetova Zhanat and Deputy Director for educational work Askarova Zhuldyz, emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation between the University and the school, confirmed that the value of such events is the possibility of live communication between foreign students and schoolchildren, teachers of school and teachers of university outside the educational process. teachers of the methodical Association of Russian language and literature of the gymnasium took a part on the event: Agibaeva Gulmira, Lapina Larisa, Doschanova Feruza, Zhilzhaksynova Gulmira, Egizbayeva Aigul, Patholina Lyazzat. They helped pupils of a gymnasium to prepare the festive program: pupils of «2A», «8A» and «8B» classes presented the literary devoted of Abay and A.Pushkin.

In the meeting, professors of the Department discussed about Abay University, their faculty, showed films from the life of foreign students, gifting booklets.

This event was held by that program «Rukhani Zhangyru» and the celebration of the anniversary of Abay Kunanbayev. At the end of the event, the prospects for further cooperation between the Department and the gymnasium were discussed.
