The works of scientists of Abai KazNPU contribute to the development of world history and geography

These days among the intelligentsia there is good news about the publication of the monograph «Eurasian Historical Geography as Reflected in Geographical Literature and in Maps from the 13th to the Mid-17th Centuries» by the historian, world-famous scientist Nurlan Kenzheakhmet, who studies history based on information on geographical maps. We hope that this grandiose work of the scientist, who analyzed on the basis of ancient maps and medieval data the blurred expanses of Eurasia in the history of the Turks before this period, will be published in Germany and will cause a sensation among scientists all over the world. This is the experience of combining historical cartography and geographical toponymy with applied research in the context of history, which has become the main direction of scientific activity of domestic scientists.

Nurlan Kenzheakhmet is a research professor of Abai KazNPU Institute of Natural Science and Geography, and a round table was held at our university on the topic «Ancient Turkic era in Central Asia (VI-XIII centuries) historical and geographical significance and aspects of the study of toponymic data in the modern world geopolitical system». We are sure that thousands of readers are already looking forward to the Kazakh version of this grandiose work, and this fundamental work will become a valuable source for researchers in the field of history and geography! We express special gratitude to the department of science of our university for supporting the publication of such a fundamental work, which occupies a special place in the history of the Kazakh people, systematic research.

The team of Abai KazNPU, including the Institute of Natural Science and Geography, congratulates Nurlan Kenzheakhmet on the publication of many years of work, wishes him good health, family well-being, and new creative success!
