National competition «Greenways»

On April 15, 2022 at the Institute of Natural History and Geography of Abai KazNPU the national contest «Greenways» was held in order to develop ecotourism in Kazakhstan and improve the quality of the industry to a new level.

The direction of the competition was actively discussed, ranging from opportunities for the development of ecotourism to business plans for the preservation of the World Heritage and the formation of eco-culture through the disclosure of youth interests. The carefully prepared teams, having explored the relevance of the topic, proposed their own solutions to the issues at hand. For example, an 8-day caravanning tour to Balkhash Lake, construction of an eco-friendly hotel near Bozzhyry, tourism distinctions showing the potential of East Kazakhstan to the world and ideas for creation of environmental awareness of nature lovers.

The jury thanked the participants of the competition for their active work on the project «Formation of ecological culture among pupils and students». Noting the importance of the topic, they awarded the winners with diplomas of various degrees. The organizers of the event were teachers of EP «Geography, Environment and Services» D.T. Aliaskarov, K.K. Muzdybayeva, K.M. Omarov, A.A. Aldasheva, A.S. Savanchieva, A.N. Beken, M.A. Serik and R.B. Kudebayev.
